When I think about “abundance” I tend to think about money – a resource which can (fairly!) easily be increased. But what I suspect many of us want just as much as money is time. And, on the face of it, time is a fixed and limited resource. We each have twenty four hours in each day, and we can expect to live for perhaps eighty or ninety years. It seems like time is the great leveler – whether we’re rich, poor, abundance-minded or scarcity-scared. Read the rest of this entry

Manifesting is a natural and normal process but, since we have often been brought up to believe achieving things requires hard work, manifesting is actually a skill. Like any other skill, it requires practice. Essentially, it is a mind-set, and we need to be thinking and feeling a certain way to get the manifesting process to work.
Be very specific
You need to have a clear image of what you intend to manifest. How does it look and feel, what is the experience of having it like? Try to visualize yourself in the position of receiving the abundance you desire. If you enjoy writing, then write a vivid description of what it is like. Some time ago, I wrote a post on life coaching in which I mentioned Celstine Chua, a life coach based in Singapre. Celestine responded to my post and I asked if she would like to write an article about her work and about coaching in general. She was kind enough to take up the offer, despite her very busy schedule, and here is the article. Many thanks, Celes! Please visit her at The Personal Excellence Blog.

If you are interested in engaging a life coach or you just want to learn more about life coaching in general, you might find this article helpful.
So to give a quick intro on myself. I’m Celestine Chua, a life coach. Online, I blog at The Personal Excellence Blog and offline, I run The School of Personal Excellence, the school for people who aim for excellence in life. It was barely a year ago when I left my corporate job to pursue my real passion to help others grow. To date, I’ve been doing life coaching intensively for about 6 months.
I don’t really associate what I’m doing as life coaching though – I focus on “helping others achieve excellence”, and life coaching just one of the mediums I do that (together with blogging, speaking, training). Read the rest of this entry
When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength. Give thanks for your food, and the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies with yourself. ~Tecumseh
Adopting an attitude of appreciation towards the good things in your life makes an enormous difference to your level of happiness. People who make a conscious effort to adopt an ‘attitude of gratitude’ report a greater sense of peace, fulfillment and general well being. According to a research project from the University of Miami, people who practice some form of conscious gratitude:
- exercised more regularly, were healthier, slept better and felt more optimistic;
- made more progress towards personal goals;
- were more alert, enthusiastic and could handle stress more effectively.
Some people are naturally more optimistic and positive than others, but even the most pessimistic of souls can develop a more optimistic and happier mindset with persistent practice. Read the rest of this entry
